Nokia X, X+ and XL Android smartphones announced..
Just as we had expected, Nokia unveiled the
Nokia X, which is its first device to run on
Android OS. But it was not the only smartphone
unveiled and the Finnish company in fact
announced its second and third Android
smartphones called the Nokia X+ and the Nokia
XL. The Nokia X will be available immediately
for 89 Euros, while the Nokia X+ and the Nokia
XL will be available in the second quarter of this
year for 99 Euros and 109 Euros respectively.
Talking of the specifications, the Nokia X sports
a 4-inch WVGA (800×480 pisxels) display and
is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon
dual-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM.
Other features include 4GB of storage with
microSD support, 5-megapixel camera and a
1,500mAh battery.
The Nokia X+ has similar specs, albeit with
more internal storage.
The Nokia XL, on the other hand, flaunts a
bigger display – 5-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels)
display — and gets better cameras– 5-
megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-
facing camera.
These devices run on an AOSP version of
Android, which doesn’t have the Google Play
Store. Instead, Nokia is offering its own Android
store, which has as a combination of its own
and Microsoft’s apps. Users will also get
access to third-party app stores like Yandex.
As an introductory offer, Microsoft is offering
buyers one month free calls Skype, and 1GB of
OneDrive storage.
