Dell launches Venue 7 and Venue 8 Intel-based Android tablets
The Dell Venue 7 and Dell Venue 8 Android-based tablets are based on 2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2760 (Clover Trail) processor. As the name suggests, the Dell Venue 7 comes with a 7-inch display with a 1280x800 pixel resolution, while the Venue 8 features an 8-inch display with the same resolution. Both the tablets run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, while the company also mentions that an update will be given for both the tablets when Android 4.4 is released. Both the tablets feature dual cameras - front and rear. However, the exact megapixel count has not been revealed by the company. The company has also announced that both the tablets will be available in two variants - Wi-Fi-only and 4G variants.
Additionally both the tablets come preloaded with Dell PocketCloud app which enables consumers to build their personal cloud and remotely manage content.
Commenting on the launch, the Dell's president of creative strategies said, "Dell appears to have its innovative mojo back. These new products clearly emphasize Dell's commitment to create innovative mobile solutions for businesses and consumers and I believe represent some of the best products they have made in many years."
Sam Burd, vice president of the Dell Personal Computing Group, stated at the launch, "The new Dell Venue tablets give customers the stellar experience they expect from us, with performance that allows them to work how they want, when they want, in a design they'll be proud to show off and own."
